Despite having male main characters, 'Big Mouth' uses female experience FROM female perspective as an equally important part of the show, this is fairly huge. With a a balance in the stories told in season one, it is clear the writers are dedicated have something for everyone.
Starting the Conversation
Some say that the show is "the future of sex ed", others are mortified by it, but even if it isn’t a show for middle schoolers, those a bit older can look back on a time of awkwardness and shame and watch with delight the relatability, candor, and, of course, the dirty jokes.
But of course, the show isn't perfect...
With the decision to cast Jenny Slate as Missy, the show saw major push-back from audiences on Twitter accusing the writers of "whitewashing" yet another Netflix show by casting a white woman to voice a black character.
